It’s with deep sadness we announce the death of Karl Sturman who passed away peacefully on Tuesday 8th April aged 55.
Our thoughts are with his wife Caroline and their daughter Hannah.
For many years, Karl coached Hannah and her teammates in our Mini & Junior section and she continued playing rugby at university and now lives and works in Brighton. Hannah was one of the Stags’ players in the England RFU 2015 World Cup advertising campaign.
As a Saracens season ticket holder Karl was overwhelmed when he received a video message from Alex Goode and Ivan van Zyl sending their thoughts and thanks shortly before his death.
A Celebration of Karl’s Life will take place on Wednesday 23 April 2025 from 2pm at Chartridge Park Golf Club, Chesham HP5 2TF, casual dress, light refreshments.
