Saturday, Chesham Rugby Club had the privilege of participating in the Chesham Schools Carnival, and we couldn’t be prouder of the incredible effort shown by our members and volunteers. It was a great example of all the things that make our club truly special – teamwork, community spirit, and I hope, enjoyment.

I want to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the carnival. From the early set up, to the final bits of equipment being loaded onto the “Stagsmobile.” Your hard work and enthusiasm brought everything together seamlessly.

A special mention goes to those who took the time to engage with the children, parents and adults who visited our stall. Whether you were explaining the joys of rugby, demonstrating skills, it really felt like all the best bits of “Bucks Friendliest Club”. I was proud of everyone who took part. One of the highlights was when I got to stand and watch for a little bit, as our own junior players engaged with kids at the “rugby coconut shy”, they did our club proud.

Saturday, we showcased what makes Chesham Rugby Club so unique. The feedback we received from families and carnival attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on the warmth and enthusiasm you all displayed.

Events like these remind us why we proudly call ourselves “Bucks Friendliest Club.” The community connections we hope to build and the direct engagement with parents, adults and kids is what I hope will truly define us. Thank you once again to every member and volunteer who played a part in Saturday’s success – you are the heart and soul of Chesham Rugby Club.
