Chesham RUFC Awarded Grant to Boost Girls’ Rugby Participation and Expand Pathways for Future Players
Chesham Rugby Football Club (Chesham RUFC) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a £3,680 grant from the Bucks Girls Rugby Charity (BGRC) to expand opportunities for girls of all ages to play rugby. This funding will help grow the club’s girls' teams and create a lasting pathway for young players to become part of the thriving Chesham Stags Women’s team—which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year.
This investment is part of the Women’s Rugby World Cup Legacy Boost Project, ensuring the next generation of female players have the opportunity to develop their skills and be part of the future of the game.
A Future for Girls’ Rugby at Every Level
Chesham RUFC is committed to getting more girls playing rugby and supporting their journey from grassroots to senior-level competition. The grant will support:
🏉 Launching girls’ teams at all age levels.
🏉 A Girls’ Rugby Festival at Chesham RUFC to bring young players together.
🏉 A Pitch Up & Play event for new and developing players in the 2025–2026 season.
🏉 Helping teachers gain the confidence to introduce T1 Touch Rugby in schools.
Building on 35 Years of Women’s Rugby at Chesham
This initiative is about more than just today—it’s about securing the future of women’s rugby at Chesham for the next 35 years and beyond. With the Chesham Stags Women’s team celebrating its 35th anniversary, the girls starting their rugby journey today will be part of the next generation of players to carry the club forward.
