Chesham Rugby Club Welcomes Karl Cross as New Club Chair

Chesham Rugby Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Karl Cross as our new Club Chair Officer.

Karl has been an integral part of the Chesham Rugby community for 25 years. Having joined the club with no prior rugby experience, he quickly found a home here, forging lifelong friendships and embracing the sport. Over the years, he has played, coached, and volunteered across multiple areas of the club, gaining a deep understanding of what makes Chesham Rugby Club special.

A Vision for the Future

As Karl steps into this leadership role, he is committed to building on the club’s strong foundations and ensuring its continued growth. His priorities include:

  • Strengthening the club’s “One Club” philosophy, ensuring all sections—minis, juniors, seniors, and veterans—work together towards a shared future.
  • Supporting the club’s incredible volunteers, recognizing their dedication, and encouraging more people to get involved.
  • Fostering an inclusive and sustainable rugby environment that welcomes players of all backgrounds and abilities.
  • Continuing Chesham Rugby Club’s reputation as “Bucks Friendliest Club” by upholding the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and community.

Experience & Leadership

Karl brings a wealth of experience to the role, having completed the RFU Leadership Academy, the England Rugby Mentoring Award, and numerous coaching qualifications. His background in club development and mentoring will be invaluable in shaping the club’s future.

“I am incredibly proud to take on this role and to continue supporting the club that has given me so much,” Karl shared. “Chesham Rugby Club is more than just a sports club—it’s a family. By working together, we can ensure that the next generation of Stags has the same opportunities to grow, develop, and thrive in this amazing community.”

We warmly welcome Karl to his new position and look forward to an exciting future under his leadership.
